Back to School - Term 2!

We are so thankful for all the hard work that Ian puts in to getting the children ready for the start of a new term. With 2 extra boarders to get ready he has been very busy! Clinton is starting his first full term and Samantha is also joining Clinton, Derrick, Joel, Elizabeth and Linet as a boarder - she has been super excited! We are very grateful to her sponsor for enabling her to do this. We had to hold Samantha back a year as she had missed so much education and was struggling with the curriculum. This year she seems to be coping much better and with the additional support she will get being a boarder at school we are expecting her to continue to improve.

It is such a privilege being part of the lives of these children, seeing them learn and grow with hope for their future. The smiles on their faces and the joy and thankfulness with which they live their lives fills my heart to the brim. I pray that they will continue to know God's goodness and love in their lives in the days that lie ahead.

Daisy and Tracey are still in need of sponsors to enable them to join the other children as boarders at school. Daisy was sent from her village by her mum to live with Ian's family to help with cooking and cleaning in exchange for food and lodgings as her father had died and her mother cold not earn enough to look after her. Tracey's mum washes dishes at the school to earn a little money to survive. The girls are currently supported to attend school as day pupils through general BLI UK funds. Being sponsored would help secure their education into the future and keep them from the perils of child marriage and early pregnancy which is often the fate of girls who do not manage to complete their education.

Please consider whether you could sponsor Daisy or Tracey, on your own or with a group of friends. The cost is £45 per month for all school requirements, uniforms, meals, tuition and boarding fees. Please do get in touch if you think you can help.
